1st Lt Jose Hector Ortiz

1st Lt Jose Hector Ortiz was born 08 Sept 1946 in Rolling Hills, Puerto Rico. He was a Tactical Aircraft Pilot flying the OV-10, serving during the Vietnam War in the 19th Tactical Air Support Squadron, 504th Tactical Air Support Group, 7TH Air Force.

1st Lt Jose Hector Ortiz died 29 Apr 1970 in the province of Hua Nghia, Vietnam. He was awarded the following medals: Purple Heart, Air Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.Ìý

His memorial can be found on Panel 11W, Line 69 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.Ìý
