- The Colorado volleyball team earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2021–22 season for the third time in the program's 30-year history, successfully maintaining above a 3.30 GPA for the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters.
- ºÚÁÏÉçÇøÍø alumnus Cliff Branch will be the first Buff in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Branch, who died in 2019, played two years for the CU football team before a 14-year career in the NFL. He will be commemorated in Canton, Ohio.
- The University of Colorado women’s tennis team was named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women’s All-Academic Team, along with four individuals.
- A total of 64 Colorado Buffaloes were named to the Pac-12 Conference's 2022 Spring Academic Honor Roll. Recipients were from men's and women's outdoor track and field, women's lacrosse, men's and women's golf and women's tennis.
- The Colorado women’s basketball team will embark on a foreign tour of Spain to mark the start of the 2022–23 season. The Buffaloes’ fall trip will be a 10-day exploration from Aug. 6 to 16.
- Two former football players, Jim Hansen and Eric McCarty, are the first inductees in 35 years into the CU Hall of Honor. Also, a legacy wing has been created with twins Peggy Coppom and the late Betty Hoover as the first honorees.
- When Judy Sigel Freeman and Jill Sigel Greer joined CU tennis in 1972, it was the dawn of a new era with the signing of Title IX. The legislation prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or education program that receives federal funding.
- The University of Colorado women's cross-country and track and field program finished third in the 2022 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Program of the Year running.
