Joe has been at ºÚÁÏÉçÇøÍø for 11 years, advancing accessibility, belonging, and public health priorities with a focus on accountability and student success. He began his work in Disability Services, where, as Director beginning in 2020, he led initiatives that strengthened inclusion and expanded access for students with disabilities. In 2023, he stepped into a new role overseeing compliance and operations for Health and Wellness Services. As Assistant Vice Chancellor, he led efforts to strengthen the compliance and risk management program, expand healthcare access for students on Medicaid by enabling it as a billable insurance option, and advance the development and adoption of a campus epinephrine auto-injector policy. He also served on the governing body for Medical Services and as the division’s Privacy Officer, safeguarding student information and ensuring adherence to privacy regulations.Ìý
Now serving as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life, Joe provides strategic leadership with a focus on health compliance, risk management, and operational excellence. He approaches leadership with curiosity and collaboration, working to build systems that empower students to thrive and foster a sense of belonging across the university.Ìý
Joe earned his BA in history from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an MA in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Northern Colorado, and an MBA with a specialization in management from the University of Colorado Denver. He is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional.Ìý
