Fall 2025 IUT Processing Due 9/5

The deadline to process all Fall 2025 IUT applications is noon on Friday, Sept. 5 (census). If you have special circumstances for a late IUT, please first consult with iut@colorado.edu and if appropriate complete the IUT admissions form by this date.

To process applications that will not be granted admission for Fall 2025, you’ll need to deny or cancel the application and encourage the student to reapply for Spring 2026. (Effective Spring 2025, we are no longer rolling forward applications.)

Fall 2025 Drop Application & Considerations

Friday, Sept. 5 is also the final IUT drop deadline. Students pursuing double degrees who wish to drop only one of their degree programs should use the IUT application. This is the same form as the IUT change or add application, takes only a few minutes to complete and serves as an official record of the student's intent to drop one of their programs.

The date a student decides to submit an IUT drop application may impact their tuition and finances as well as their student status and graduation timeline. Students are encouraged to consult with the appropriate offices to understand these implications, including the Bursar's Office, Office of Financial Aid, Scholarship Services, Veteran and Military Affairs, International & Student Scholar Services (ISSS) and Herbst Academic Center.

Graduating seniors applying for an IUT drop after the deadline for their graduation term should work with their academic advisor and submit an IUT drop application for any program they won't complete before graduation.

A reminder that several Summer 2025 IUT deadlines occur on Thursday, Aug. 7 at noon (MT):

Process all Summer 2025 IUT applications in all OnBase folders.
- Complete the IUT admissions form for requests requiring submission outside of OnBase.
Do not roll over any summer IUT applications to Fall 2025.
- Deny or cancel the application (depending on the circumstances) and ask the student to reapply for Fall 2025.
- Complete an IUT admissions form on the student's behalf if this is not possible.
Final deadline for IUT drops.
- If students contact you indicating they changed their mind about a completed IUT, or they want to drop one program in their double degree, this must be completed by noon.

The next IUT workflow check is Monday, Aug. 11 to prepare for when Fall 2025 open enrollment begins on Thursday, Aug. 14.

Spring 2026 IUT admission cycle edits to existing notifications are due Friday, Aug. 1. Add your edits in the IUT Committee site. Be sure to use “reviewing mode” when editing and to review hyperlinks and dates (note that semester references, e.g. “Summer 2025,” will be updated automatically).

As always, when processing notifications for Spring 2026:

Test one notification
Check the notification in the Work Folder or BPA
Send the remaining notifications as a batch.

If you don’t have any edits please notify IUT@colorado.edu so the item can be marked as complete.

Spring 2026 IUT admission cycle edits to existing notifications are due Friday, Aug. 1.

This is a reminder to clear your OnBase workflows as much as possible by Monday, July 21 to allow eligible Summer or Fall 2025 IUT applications to be processed before schedule adjustment begins on Wednesday, July 23. Pending Summer 2025 IUT applications are due at noon on Thursday, Aug. 7 to allow for IUT processing ahead of Summer 2025 census.

For Fall 2025 IUT applications, the final deadline is Sunday, Aug. 10 and census is noon on Friday, Sept. 5.

Additional reminders:

Deferred IUT applicants who meet the IUT eligibility requirements by the end of the semester can remain in the “Deferred” queue until after Summer 2025 grades post to transcripts.
If any auto-deferred IUT applicants have any factors that would definitively affect eligibility for Summer or Fall 2025 acceptance, please review their applications as soon as possible to allow students more time to make alternate plans when registration reopens. Examples include IUT applicants who may:
- Be missing completion or current enrollment in an IUT prerequisite course.
- Not meet (or could not meet) the credit minimum by then end of Summer 2025.
- Exceed the credit maximum of passed credits at the time of application.
- Not be accepted due to space constraints and a major or a program already being full.
Please remember to add comments specific to the IUT applicant when processing a denial to help students and advisors understand how to proceed.
If you receive a cancellation request, please move the IUT application to the “Cancel” queue as soon as possible after adding comments.
