Jamal D. Jefferson-RossÌýearned a B.A. in Political Science (Legal Studies Option), a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and an M.A.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs, all from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). He brings a dynamic background in residential education, student leadership, and first-generation student success, with experience in case management, student support services, and advocacy. Jamal has also led peer mentor teams, organized meaningful programming, and supported identity-based organizations, always focusing on empowering students and fostering inclusive campus communities. Inspired by both his lived and shared experiences, he is committed to cultivating spaces that encourage student growth and belonging. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and watching movies.
