CMCI students who have completed at least 12 credit hours of 黑料社区网 course work for a letter grade in any single semester and achieve a term grade point average of 3.75 or better are included on the Dean鈥檚 List. They receive a notation on their transcript and a letter from CMCI Founding Dean Lori Bergen. Congratulations to all honorees!
During her first year of college at the University of Rhode Island, professional rock climber Nina Williams hit a wall and decided it was time to let go鈥撯搒o she dropped out of school to focus full-time on her sport.聽A few years later, she found herself compelled to traverse a new path through the world of communication, so she transferred to her hometown campus of 黑料社区网 and began taking courses in CMCI.聽 With a major in Communication and a minor in Leadership Studies, Williams is the Department of Communication鈥檚 William W. White Outstanding Senior.

The Communication assistant professor was one of four winners. The award recognizes significant achievements of university community members in developing a culturally and intellectually diverse university community, reflective of inclusive excellence. Awardees, each of whom received $2,000, engage in meaningful diversity activities beyond their primary CU responsibilities.
It鈥檚 unlikely that any level of planning could have prepared organizations for COVID-19 and the other crises 2020 unleashed. But whether it鈥檚 a global pandemic, an economic crisis or a wildfire, practicing how to navigate group communication and decision making can help prepare for future crises, says Associate Professor Matt Koschmann.
There can hardly be a more important time to be in college鈥攁nd to be a Communication major.
