“A Nonlinear Dynamical Systems-based Modeling Approach for Stochastic Simulation of Streamflow and Understanding Predictability” was published in Water Resources Research, June 17, 2019.

The Oct. 1–2, 2019 visit by Reclamation Commissioner Brenda Burman and other officials provided an opportunity to review and celebrate the evolution and accomplishments of the 30-year collaborative partnership between Reclamation and CADSWES.

Over 125 representatives from a variety of government agencies and private organizations gathered for two days of presentations and demonstrations by RiverWare users and CADSWES staff, Aug. 28–29, 2019.

The Federal Interagency Sedimentation and Hydrologic Modeling (SEDHYD) Conference was held June 24–28, 2019, in Reno, Nevada. David Neumann of CADSWES presented a study he co-authored, “River and Reservoir Operations Using RiverWare Within the Corps Water Management System (CWMS).”

In the class, held June 12–14, 2019, Tim Magee and Mitch Clement of CADSWES introduced attendees to RiverWare optimization concepts and applications and facilitated hands-on exercises using sample models.

CADSWES is pleased to announce RiverWare version 7.5, available June 6, 2019. Highlights include: usability improvements for the workspace and the DMI connection to Excel; multiple enhancements to scripts, RPL predefined functions, and the model comparison tool; and a new, HTML-based documentation set.

Congratulations to Sumi Thapa on earning her Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, in the Hydrology, Water Resources and Environmental Fluid Mechanics program at ����������.

"Quantifying and Evaluating the Impacts of Cooperation in Transboundary River Basins on the Water-Energy-Food Nexus: The Blue Nile Basin," was published in Science of the Total Environment, July 15, 2018. The study uses a daily simulation model to explore the effects of three cooperation states on the economic gain of the Blue Nile Basin.

Graduate students Sarah Baker and Elliot Alexander presented their research at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) event, held Dec. 10–14, 2018, in Washington, D.C. The annual AGU Fall Meeting is a leading forum for the advancement of research in Earth and space sciences.

In October, Edie Zagona attended the 60th Anniversary celebration of the China Institute of Water and Hydropower Research (IWHR) in Beijing and gave a keynote address for the International Symposium on Water System Operations as a part of that
