Biography

Frances Tice is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Leeds School of Business. Her research focuses on corporate governance, executive compensation and incentives, and networks. Frances’ recent work examines factors that affect board effectiveness, including director connectedness, board leadership, and directors’ incentives. She also investigates how monetary incentives in executive compensation contracts shape corporate investment decisions and risk-taking behavior.

Frances received a Ph.D. in Accounting as well as an MBA from Texas A&M University. She received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
Frances currently teaches corporate financial reporting.
